The stories we tell are important because they can change how we act in the world. Park interpreters are professional storytellers and their stories influence how visitors interact with the place they are visiting. In the summer of 2003, a study was undertaken at Dinosaur Provincial Park to explore the perceived ability of existing programming to promote ecological citizenship. Follwoing a series of in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, it became apparent that the promotion of ecolocial citizenship was challenged by a lack of information conducive to integrating natural and cultural history into park naratives.
